Job summary

PayneCrest Electric, a Primoris Company, seeks a Senior BIM Engineer to lead electrical modeling, coordination, and constructability efforts across large-scale projects. You will bridge engineering, BIM/VDC, and field execution while mentoring junior BIM staff to improve quality, consistency, and standards.

Responsibilities include leading modeling for design-build and design-assist projects, driving clash-free coordination, and supporting value engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Technology, or related discipline, or equivalent field-based electrical construction experience.
• 5+ years of experience supporting electrical construction projects in BIM, VDC, or engineering roles.
• Demonstrated experience leading electrical coordination and constructability-driven modeling workflows.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
• Strong understanding of NEC requirements and field installation practices.
• Proven ability to mentor junior technical staff and manage workload priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical modeling and coordination for large-scale projects.
• Develop and coordinate advanced electrical systems including one-line diagrams and layouts.
• Drive clash-free model integration across trades using Navisworks and coordination platforms.
• Lead constructability reviews and identify installation risks and sequencing conflicts.
• Collaborate with field leadership and prefabrication teams to integrate modularization and labor-efficiency strategies.
• Support value engineering by developing cost-effective technical solutions.
• Mentor BIM Engineers and Designers with guidance and quality oversight.
• Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and operations to align BIM deliverables with schedules.
• Participate in client-facing coordination meetings and design reviews.
• Enforce BIM standards, workflows, and quality control processes.
