Job summary

The City of Kenyon seeks an Operations Superintendent to lead the daily operations, maintenance, and repair of the City’s electric and water utility systems. This top‑level supervisor directs field operations, oversees staff, and partners with the City Administrator and Utility Commission to support capital projects and reliable service.

Required are a Journeyman Lineworker License, Class A Water License (or ability to obtain), Class B CDL, and prior supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a vocational line worker program.
• Journeyman Lineworker License required.
• Class A Water License or ability to obtain one.
• Class B CDL license required.
• Experience supervising utility staff is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations, maintenance and repair of electric and water utility systems.
• Oversee generation plant operations and contractor coordination.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and budgeting across utilities.
• Promote employee safety and participate in long‑term planning.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and reliability.
• Respond to after‑hours emergencies, weekends and on‑call duties.
