Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to obtain medical history and explain procedures.
• Ensures electrodes are sterilized and correctly placed.
• Calibrates equipment and reports malfunctions.
• Selects electrode combinations and records brain activity; eliminates artifacts.
• Provides training and guidance to other technologists.
• May supervise EEG monitoring in radiology or operating room.
• Maintains and calibrates EEG equipment.
• Provides on-call services.
