Job summary

The Art Institute of Chicago is seeking an Educator for the Ryan Learning Center to design, produce, facilitate, and evaluate artmaking programs and installations. You will supervise part-time staff, interns, and volunteers, ensuring programs run efficiently and accessibly for families and multigenerational audiences, with a focus on the Art Exchange.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2 years' experience with students, children, or families; or in museums or informal education settings preferred.
• Knowledge of early learning and curriculum design for multigenerational programs.
• Experience leading team workflows to ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Experience with artistic practices, curriculum design, and teaching with art works.

Responsibilities

• Lead facilitator 2-3 shifts per week in the Art Exchange.
• Coordinate Artist Studio design and family-friendly engagements.
• Support Family Day planning and large-scale events.
• Maintain and coordinate Ryan Learning Center installations and spaces.
• Oversee inventory, prep, and storage of supplies for events.
• Coach and train Art Exchange volunteers and interns.
• Manage supply inventory and orders for materials.
• Lead artmaking engagements during events and programs.
• Provide administrative and evaluation support across Creative Spaces programs.
