Job summary

The Art Institute of Chicago is seeking an Educator within the Creative Spaces team. You will design, produce, facilitate, and evaluate artmaking programs for the Ryan Learning Center, with focus on the Art Exchange and family-friendly experiences.

You will supervise part-time staff, interns, and volunteers to ensure engaging, accessible programs. You will collaborate with senior educators to develop seasonal art activities and support large events, while maintaining inventories and coordinating

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience working with students, children, or families in museums or educational settings preferred.
• Knowledge of early learning and curriculum design for multigenerational programs; understanding informal education trends and evaluation.
• Experience leading team workflows to ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Experience with artistic practices, curriculum design, and art-related content creation.
• Familiarity with family-friendly artmaking materials and tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead facilitator 2–3 shifts per week in the Art Exchange.
• Support daily direction of part-time staff, interns, and volunteers.
• Coordinate resources, spaces, and projects for program delivery.
• Contribute to training and coaching volunteers and staff.
• Manage supply inventory and orders for installations and spaces.
• Lead artmaking engagements during Creative Spaces events and programs.
