Job summary

STI-TEC in Washington, DC, is seeking a Lead Editor to manage editorial and publishing initiatives for the Joint Doctrine Development Community. This role involves coordinating production schedules and ensuring publication quality.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field, or extensive experience in the sector, coupled with necessary communication and leadership skills. Additional qualifications include a Secret security clearance and familiarity with the AFPIMS content management system.

Position Overview

Publication throughput and quality across the joint doctrine program depend on coordinated editorial leadership. The Lead Editor manages production schedules, tracking, and content management so the Joint Doctrine Development Community meets publication timelines without sacrificing quality. The role directs editorial and publishing initiatives end‑to‑end.

Essential Job Function
  • Direct and coordinate editorial and publishing initiatives across the joint doctrine program.
  • Manage production schedules through tracking tools and enforce product quality standards.
  • Manage content across the publication workflow.
  • Operate the American Forces Public Information Management System (AFPIMS) content management system.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Management Science, or a related field; or no degree and 10 years of demonstrated success in the areas below.
  • Experience: Demonstrated success in four (4) or more of the following: expertise in joint or Service doctrine development and publishing processes; managing production schedules via tracking tools and enforcing product quality; content management; certification in the DoD Public Web's AFPIMS content management system; communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills; and directing and coordinating editorial and publishing initiatives.
  • Security Clearance: Secret (per Staffing Plan).
Desired Qualifications
  • Current AFPIMS content management system certification.
  • Prior experience leading an editorial or publishing team in a DoD environment.
