Job summary

Amentum is recruiting a Principal Electrical Engineer to join its Energy business in the UK. The role supports a UK nuclear fleet through business transformation, licensing, generation, and life extension activities, while advancing new modular reactor concepts.

Qualifications

• Degree in EC&I or a closely related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status with a relevant body.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in nuclear or highly regulated environments.
• Deep knowledge of nuclear safety, regulation and QA processes.
• Familiar with EC&I standards and design lifecycle practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering solutions to time, cost and quality targets on varied projects.
• Collaborate with Principal Engineers, Engineering Managers and Operations Managers to enable delivery.
• Engage with regulators and stakeholders, chairing design and safety reviews as needed.
• Ensure safety, reliability and compliance across the design lifecycle of EC&I systems.
• Support development of nuclear technologies and transition to new build or life extension projects.
