Job summary

Discovery Point Careers in Florida seeks a Lead Teacher to plan lessons and guide children through an approved curriculum, promoting social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth while maintaining a safe, healthy classroom.

You will promote center functions, communicate with families, supervise staff, comply with state licensing requirements, and contribute to a positive, welcoming learning environment each day.

Qualifications

• Must meet state licensing requirements for education and experience.
• Knowledge of early childhood education and curriculum.
• Knowledge of child care licensing rules and regulations.
• Ability to obtain training in CPR/Fire Safety and other training required.
• Must have CDA/degree in ECE.
• Must be able to meet state background check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans and instruct children in age-appropriate activities.
• Set up and maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.
• Ensure classroom is clean and ready for tours at all times.
• Communicate with parents and staff in a friendly, professional manner.
• Provide developmentally appropriate activities and feedback to families.
• Support Center Director and Owner with parent communication and routines.
