Job summary

NAPA Center in Hawthorne, CA seeks a Lead Teacher to plan and deliver lessons that promote social, physical and intellectual growth, with supervision of children and progress tracking.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree; Level 1/2 Early Childhood Special Education Credential preferred; 1 year of experience; CPR preferred. Full-time position with possible part-time options and supportive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required. Early Childhood Special Education credential preferred.
• 1 year experience teaching young children.
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students individually and/or in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students’ needs.
• Develop lesson plans and prepare materials and classrooms for activities.
• Establish objectives for lessons and projects and communicate them to students.
• Assist students who need extra help.
• Establish and enforce classroom rules and procedures.
• Meet with parents to discuss progress and goals.
• Encourage learning and perseverance for advancement.
• Observe, evaluate and track student performance and development.
• Assess class needs and modify content or teaching methods.
• Participate in meetings and committees for QA purposes.
• Lead and facilitate a diverse group of children.
• Participate in professional training as required.
