Job summary

Hole in the Wall Drywall Repair is expanding in the Chicago metro and seeks an experienced Lead Drywall Technician to oversee field operations and guide our crew. You will lead on-site, perform installation, repair, and finishing work, mentor teammates, ensure safety and quality, and maintain strong communication with customers and office staff.

This role requires hands-on drywall finishing with 3+ years, knowledge of materials and tools, a valid Illinois driver's license, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on drywall finishing experience.
• Strong knowledge of drywall materials, tools, and installation methods.
• Valid driver's license and legal authorization to operate in Illinois.
• Fluent in reading and writing English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor crew members on job sites
• Perform drywall installation, repair, and finishing jobs as assigned
• Troubleshoot issues and provide solutions
• Assist in training junior technicians on proper techniques and safety
• Ensure quality workmanship and project timelines meet customer needs and follow company standards
• Communicate with customers and office staff in a timely manner
• Must be able to safely operate company-owned commercial vans and transport tools, materials, and equipment
• Manage materials and tools inventory

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor crew members on job sites
• Perform drywall installation, repair, and finishing jobs as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on drywall finishing experience with minimum 3 years experience
• Should have strong knowledge on drywall materials, tools, and installation methods
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be legally authorized to operate a motor vehicle in Illinois
• Fluent in reading and writing English

Preferred Qualifications

• Reliable, hardworking self-starter who takes pride in their work, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and can independently manage tasks while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.
• May have texture matching skills across varies types, though not required can expect training opportunities to support growth
• Basic painting skills for small repair jobs
