Job summary

Hole in the Wall Drywall Repair is seeking a Lead Supervisor Drywall Technician in the Chicago metro area. You will oversee field operations, lead our crew, and ensure top-quality drywall installation, finishing, and repairs on a variety of projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of drywall finishing/painting experience, expert texture matching, and a proven ability to guide a crew. Use of company vans is required; strong safety and customer communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in drywall finishing and/or painting.
• Proven Level 5 finish capability (skim coating, surface prep, flawless final surfaces).
• Expert texture matching across multiple texture types.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and legal authorization to operate in Illinois.
• Able to safely operate company vans and transport tools and materials.
• Clean driving record per company insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor crew members on job sites.
• Perform drywall installation, repair, and finishing.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor crew members on job sites
• Perform drywall installation, repair, and finishing

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in drywall finishing and/or painting
• Strong knowledge of drywall materials, tools, and installation methods
• Proven ability to perform Level 5 finish work- skim coating, surface prep, flawless final surfaces
• Expert texture matching skills across multiple texture types
• Ability to assess repairs and recommend best‑practice solutions
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
• Fluent in reading and writing English
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be legally authorized to operate a motor vehicle in Illinois
• Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets company and commercial auto insurance requirements which can vary by vendor:
• No DUI/DWI convictions within the past 5 years
• No reckless driving convictions within the past 3 years
• No more than 1 moving violation within the past 3 years
• No more than 1 at-fault accident within the past 5 years
• No current suspension or revocation of driving privileges
• Must be able to safely operate company-owned commercial vans and transport tools, materials, and equipment
• Employment involving company vehicle operation is contingent upon successful completion of a driving record review and approval under company insurance requirements
• Must maintain an acceptable driving record throughout employment
