Job summary

Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community seeks a Civil Engineer to plan, design, and manage drainage and flood control projects in Scottsdale, AZ. This exempt, driving position requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and five years of public works experience, with PE license preferred.

You will coordinate with consultants, supervise field assessments, review technical plans, and help maintain stormwater and drainage systems across tribal jurisdictions and partner agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with professional registration or eligibility.
• Five years of full-time civil engineering experience in public works, drainage or stormwater.
• Experience with drainage and flood control design and project management.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and manage drainage and flood control projects.
• Conduct technical field assessments and define scope of work.
• Interpret and explain civil engineering issues to staff and external parties.
• Review consultants’/contractors’ work for compliance with standards and safety.
• Maintain tribal drainage, irrigation, and stormwater inventory.
• Develop and maintain operation and maintenance plans for community structures.
• Perform other duties to support drainage and irrigation programs.
