Qualifications

• Earned doctoral degree (DPT/PhD/DSc/EdD) in a discipline appropriate for teaching responsibilities.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Tennessee.
• Minimum five years of full-time post-licensure clinical practice.
• Experience teaching in a CAPTE-accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
• Ability to travel overnight or for extended periods to Knoxville for lab and student events.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and technology skills.
• CV with a cover letter describing professional experiences, content expertise and topics of interest for teaching.
• Three references.
• Separate document with a description of teaching philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in development of assigned physical therapy courses.
• Develop and deliver distance education and onsite lab immersive learning experiences.
• Develop and deliver student performance assessments using traditional and nontraditional methods.
• Maintain current records of student participation and grades.
• Provide timely academic performance feedback to students.
• Lead or participate in post-course assessment activities.
• Review student and faculty course evaluations.
• Schedule and conduct faculty team post-course analysis meetings.
• Ensure teaching and education responsibilities comply with accreditation policies and procedures.
• Engage in scholarly works contributing to the profession in accordance with CAPTE guidelines.
• Engage in service activities in the department, school, institution, and profession, including committee work and leadership roles.
