Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in the United States seeks an experienced Scientist to lead bioconjugation process development and downstream purification for vaccine programs at the West Point, PA site.

You will collaborate with Analytical, Formulation, Process Chemistry and Manufacturing teams to advance campaigns. The role requires designing experiments, leading tech transfer to production, and mentoring colleagues while applying HPLC, electrophoresis, and other analytical techniques in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in engineering or bio/chemical sciences (BS/MS/PhD).
• Experience in downstream bioprocess purification and purification operations for large molecules.
• Hands-on bioprocess development experience in industry or academia.
• Ability to work with infectious agents and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute and analyze downstream process development experiments to de-risk later stages.
• Lead downstream design and development for vaccine candidates and tech transfer.
• Mentor team members and present data to cross-functional teams.
• Support process development strategies and analytical characterization.
