Job summary

The Nature Conservancy is seeking an energetic Associate Director for the Loyal Donor Program in the United States. This role directs a fundraising team, setting goals and guiding staff to achieve donor engagement and gift planning objectives.

The ideal candidate demonstrates emotional intelligence and the ability to lead across multiple departments. Responsibilities include coaching staff, developing strategy, and traveling as needed to manage geographically dispersed fundraisers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 6 years related experience or equivalent combination.
• Supervisory experience managing with respect for team dynamics and diverse perspectives.
• Experience leading multiple projects and fundraising initiatives.
• Self-reliant with databases and development technology.
• Experience or training in gift planning principles and practices.
• Inclusive leadership and ability to develop philanthropy professionals.
• Experience in fostering a cohesive team and mentoring staff.
• Multicultural or cross-cultural experience and language skills appreciated.
• Experience in achieving strategic program goals.
• Experience supervising 3+ staff.
• Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate with partners in advisory roles.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise a fundraising team of at least five staff.
• Coach fundraising staff on donor interactions and stewardship.
• Participate in goal setting, staff training, and strategy development.
• Build relationships across the organization and with external partners.
• Travel as needed to support geographically dispersed teams.
