Job summary

Xpress Global Systems (XGS) is seeking a Lead Warehouse Dockworker in Tracy, CA. You will load/unload freight by hand or with pallet jack or forklift, sort products, and ensure trailers are loaded accurately.

You will use barcode scanners, verify shipping information, receive and store inventory, attach barcodes, and update the system. Shift is Monday–Friday from 10 PM with wage of $22.58 hourly. Applicants must be at least 18 and have 6 months warehouse experience.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience required.
• Fulfillment associate experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders.
• Must be 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Offloading delivery trucks transporting merchandise into the warehouse.
• May load or unload by hand, or with freight handling tools such as lift truck, pallet jack, or side cart.
• Use scanners to read bar codes on products.
• Scan barcode on freight and ensure each movement to rack, floor or loading door.
• View prompts on screens and follow the direction for tasks.
• Verify shipping information to ensure freight is labeled correctly.
• Receive and put away inventory.
• Confirm merchandise information matches the work order.
• Attach barcodes to freight for tracking and routing.
• Finalize the work order and update the database.
• Inspect merchandise for damage, flaws, and irregularities.
• Ensure product meets quality requirements.
• Report overage, shortages, and damages as required.
• Sort and segregate freight by destination.
• Verify freight counts.
• Dock clean-up as needed.
• May perform other duties as assigned by Management

XGS LEAD Warehouse Dockworkers are responsible for loading and unloading freight by hand or by using a pallet jack or forklift, sorting product, and ensuring that trailers are properly and accurately loaded. This position includes using a barcode scanner and helps to maintain the service center dock as neat and orderly.

Responsibilities

• Offloading delivery trucks transporting merchandise into the warehouse
• May load or unload by hand, or with freight handling tools such as lift truck, pallet jack, or side cart
• Use scanners to read bar codes on products
• Scan barcode on freight & ensure each freight movement to rack, floor or loading door
• View prompts on screens and follow the direction for some tasks
• Verify shipping information from the scan unit to ensure freight is labeled to go to the correct destination
• Receive and put away inventory
• Confirm merchandise information matches that of the work order
• Attach barcodes to freight for tracking and routing
• Finalize the work order and update the database
• Inspect merchandise for damage, flaws, and irregularities
• Ensure product meets quality requirements
• Report overage, shortages, and damages according to operating procedures
• Sort and segregate freight by destination
• Verify freight counts
• Dock clean‑up as needed
• May include other duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications

• 6 months experience
• Previous experience as a fulfillment associate
• Knowledge of warehousing procedures an advantage
• Ability to read and interpret written work orders
• Strong attention to detail
• 18 years old
• Meet minimum hiring criteria

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing
• Experience operating lift truck, pallet jack, or side desired
• Frequently lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds; pull up to 100 pounds and push up to 50 pounds
• Occasionally climb stairs
• Frequently stoop, kneel or crouch

Environment

Most work is conducted in a comfortable office environment but exposure to site conditions may also occur. Personal protective equipment must be worn in all areas as required. Although the work usually is not considered inherently dangerous, must be careful while performing onsite services.
