Job summary

Xpress Global Systems, LLC is seeking a warehouse dockworker in Lakeland, FL. You will load and unload freight by hand or with pallet jacks and forklifts, sort products, and ensure trailers are properly loaded while using a barcode scanner.

Join a team with Monday–Friday shifts starting at 2 PM and a pay rate of $17.77 per hour. The role requires 6 months of warehouse experience, the ability to read and interpret work orders, and commitment to safety and accuracy on the dock.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience in warehousing or fulfillment roles.
• Ability to read and interpret written work orders.
• 18 years or older and meet minimum hiring criteria.
• Knowledge of standard warehousing procedures is an advantage.
• Must be able to operate or assist with lift equipment when required.

Responsibilities

• Unload delivery trucks and move merchandise into the warehouse.
• Load or unload by hand or with pallet jacks, lift trucks, or carts.
• Use barcode scanners to read barcodes on products.
• Scan freight, verify destinations, and route to racks or doors.
• Receive and store inventory, match information to work orders, and update records.
• Attach barcodes and finalize work orders for tracking.
• Inspect merchandise for damage and report discrepancies.
• Sort freight by destination and keep the dock clean and organized.

Overview

XGS warehouse dockworkers are responsible for loading and unloading freight by hand or by using a pallet jack/forklift, sorting product, and ensuring that trailers are properly and accurately loaded. This position includes using a barcode scanner and helps to maintain the service center dock as neat and orderly.

• Monday-Friday, 2PM Start Time!


• $17.77 Hourly!

Responsibilities

• Offloading delivery trucks transporting merchandise into the warehouse


• May load or unload by hand, or with freight handling tools such as lift truck, pallet jack, or side cart


• Use scanners to read bar codes on products


• Scan barcode on freight & ensure each freight movement to rack, floor or loading door


• View prompts on screens and follow the direction for some tasks


• Verify shipping information from the scan unit to ensure freight is labeled to go to the correct destination


• Receive and put away inventory


• Confirming merchandise information matches that of the work order


• Attach barcodes to freight for tracking and routing


• Finalizing the work order and updating the database


• Inspecting the merchandise for damage, flaws, and irregularities


• Ensure product meets quality requirements


• Report overage, shortages, and damages according to operating procedures


• Sort and segregate freight by destination


• Verify freight counts


• Dock clean-up as needed


• May include other duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a fulfillment associate

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing


• Experience operating lift truck, pallet jack, or side desired


• Frequently lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds; pull up to 100 pounds and push up to 50 pounds


• Occasionally climb stairs


• Frequently stoop, kneel or crouch

ENVIRONMENT

Most work is conducted in a comfortable office environment but exposure to site conditions may also occur. Personal protective equipment must be worn in all areas as required. Although the work usually is not considered inherently dangerous, must be careful while performing onsite services.
