Job summary

XGS is hiring a warehouse dockworker in Texas who will load and unload freight, read work orders, and use pallet jacks or lift trucks. You will scan barcodes, verify shipments, and help keep the dock clean and organized. The role requires 6 months of warehousing experience and the ability to follow detailed instructions.

The position is a full-time, daytime schedule with a starting wage of $17.77 per hour. Prior warehouse terminology knowledge and safety awareness are valued.

Qualifications

  • Six months experience in warehousing or fulfillment
  • Ability to read and interpret written work orders
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be at least 18 years old and meet minimum hiring criteria
  • Experience with lift trucks, pallet jacks, or related equipment is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Unload delivery trucks and move merchandise into the warehouse
  • Use bar code scanners to track products and verify information
  • Sort, store, and retrieve items; assist with loading/unloading operations
  • Ensure accurate labeling and proper placement of freight
  • Maintain a neat, safe, and orderly dock area
  • Follow procedures for inventory updates and reporting damages or discrepancies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Job description

Overview

XGS warehouse dockworkers are responsible for loading and unloading freight by hand or by using a pallet jack/forklift, sorting product, and ensuring that trailers are properly and accurately loaded. This position includes using a barcode scanner and helps to maintain the service center dock as neat and orderly.

  • Monday-Friday, 12AM Start Time!
  • $17.77 Hourly!
Responsibilities
  • Offloading delivery trucks transporting merchandise into the warehouse
  • May load or unload by hand, or with freight handling tools such as lift truck, pallet jack, or side cart
  • Use scanners to read bar codes on products
  • Scan barcode on freight & ensure each freight movement to rack, floor or loading door
  • View prompts on screens and follow the direction for some tasks
  • Verify shipping information from the scan unit to ensure freight is labeled to go to the correct destination
  • Receive and put away inventory
  • Confirming merchandise information matches that of the work order
  • Attach barcodes to freight for tracking and routing
  • Finalizing the work order and updating the database
  • Inspecting the merchandise for damage, flaws, and irregularities
  • Ensure product meets quality requirements
  • Report overage, shortages, and damages according to operating procedures
  • Sort and segregate freight by destination
  • Verify freight counts
  • Dock clean-up as needed
  • May include other duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications
  • 6 months experience
  • Previous experience as a fulfillment associate
  • Knowledge of warehousing procedures an advantage
  • Ability to read and interpret written work orders
  • Strong attention to detail
  • 18 years old
  • Meet minimum hiring criteria

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Experience operating lift truck, pallet jack, or side desired
  • Frequently lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds; pull up to 100 pounds and push up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally climb stairs
  • Frequently stoop, kneel or crouch

ENVIRONMENT

Most work is conducted in a comfortable office environment but exposure to site conditions may also occur. Personal protective equipment must be worn in all areas as required. Although the work usually is not considered inherently dangerous, must be careful while performing onsite services.
