Job summary
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) seeks a District 61 Project Manager to lead roadway design projects and consultant contracts in East Baton Rouge Parish. The role requires technical expertise in pavement preservation, plan development, and coordination with district staff.
Candidates must hold a Louisiana PE license with at least two years of licensed experience or six years of professional engineering experience; advanced degrees may substitute for some
Qualifications
- Current Louisiana Professional Engineer license.
- Two years of licensed engineering experience; or six years of professional engineering experience.
- Master's or Doctoral degrees substitute for up to two years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a project manager for district design projects and consultant-designed projects.
- Manages consultant contracts by developing project scopes and negotiating man-hours/fees.
- Establishes contract time requirements and design criteria; monitors progress and quality.
- Reviews plans and approves or rejects final acceptance of plans; approves invoices for payment.
- Provides plan reviews as part of the design quality control process and offers technical guidance.
