Job summary

The AMES Companies, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Operator 5-Lead (Inventory Control) to manage standard distribution operator functions at our Reno, NV facility.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stock, and count merchandise in accordance with production standards. Qualifications include experience with inventory software, RF scanning, and WMS, plus the ability to train and supervise Operator levels 2–4.

Qualifications

• Ability to regularly perform duties with limited supervision.
• Experience with inventory software and order processing systems.
• Ability to cross train in core distribution functions including unloading, put away, picking, replenishing, loading, and small parcel area.
• Must pass and maintain industrial lift truck certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor workflow and drive productivity through workload management.
• Provide back-up to the Distribution Supervisor(s).
• Assist in coordination of inbound shipments, stacking, picking, staging and loading outbound product.
• Train and monitor progress of Operator levels 2–4.
• Unload inbound shipments and move product to storage locations.
• Stock and store merchandise in appropriate areas.
• Carry out duties using forklift, reach truck, or other material handling equipment.
• Keep records and reports for inventory accuracy.
