Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Distribution Engineer for Oahu, HI to design and manage electric utility projects, including OH/UG distribution, network upgrades, and street lighting. You will work with GIS tools and client design standards to ensure high-quality deliverables and field- office collaboration.

The role requires 4+ years of relevant experience, an ABET-accredited engineering degree, knowledge of NESC, O-Calc, AutoCAD or MicroStation, and 15–25% travel.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of prior relevant experience required.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial.
• Experience with OH framing/design, UG distribution design, UG network projects, and OH to UG conversions.
• Proficient with O-Calc and line design as well as SAG10 analysis.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Microstation for Electrical Distribution design.

Responsibilities

• Developing work packages for OH, UG, URD, Conventional UG, Network UG, Make Ready and Street Light projects using client GIS and WMS systems.
• Review work provided by Client and assess requirements of scopes.
• Support pole structural analysis, guying calcs, cable pulling calcs, coordination of protective devices, calculations of electric demand and fault currents.
• Developing estimated costs for projects and development of BOM.
• Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles and design.
• Coordinate with field teams on design requirements and permits.
