Job summary

Leidos is seeking Distribution Engineers for Maui and Oahu, HI who will design and deliver electrical distribution projects from 4kV to 138kV and coordinate with utility clients. The role includes field and office work, relocation support, and collaboration with a cross-functional team to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

You will work with AutoCAD/MicroStation, ESRI GIS, and distribution tools, travel 15-25%, and contribute to a growing Power Delivery Services team while pursuing

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Experience with NESC Standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, Bluebeam and/or Adobe.
• Experience with ESRI GIS is a plus.
• Experience with distribution design tools such as BOUD, Pole Foreman, Spida-Calc, O-Calc.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Willingness to perform both field and office work.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop design and construction work packages for moderately complex electrical distribution systems from 4kV through 138kV.
• Review client-provided work and assess scope requirements; assist other staff as needed.
• Develop permitting documents and coordinate with permitting agencies and stakeholders.
• Coordinate across multiple internal areas and explain technical solutions within the organization.
• Perform engineering calculations including conductor sag/tension, voltage drop, and outages root-cause analysis.
• Provide engineering support during construction and post-construction reviews.
