Job summary

Emser Tile and Natural Stone, a nationwide supplier of high-quality floor covering products servicing world-leading retailers, builders and contractors seeks an experienced Warehouse Supervisor responsible for shipping at our Distribution Center in Suffolk, VA.

The role focuses on maintaining a safe, clean work environment and efficient shipping/receiving operations, coordinating with scheduling, operations and freight providers to ensure on-time delivery to customers.

Qualifications

Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment.
3+ years in a supervisory/management role.
Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook; JD Edwards a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively in English; Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

Set priorities and provide direction to staff within area responsibility.
Train and develop Warehouse Associates and conduct routine performance evaluations.
Enforce and communicate company policies and procedures.
Maintain safe warehouse practices and drive safety compliance.
Build and drive department teamwork.
Oversee outgoing shipping to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Inspect loading operations for compliance with shipping procedures.
Ensure outbound shipments are prepared and shipped per standards and schedules.
Oversee timely loading of FTL shipments per daily truck schedules.
Schedule and plan LTL shipments to ensure on-time deliveries.
Ensure shipping documents are completed accurately with required signatures.
Communicate inventory issues promptly to Inventory Control.
Report service failures/missed shipments to DC Management.
May assist workers in shipping activities.
Other duties as assigned by management.
