    Position Summary

    The Lead Director, myPBM Benefits is responsible for overseeing the Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) segment by managing, developing, and supporting web-based development platforms. In this role, you will work collaboratively with technical leaders, business stakeholders, Value Pool Product Managers/Owners, and engineering teams across diverse development environments to define strategic objectives and develop a comprehensive multi-year roadmap. You will also ensure that technology investments align with the enterprise’s overarching strategic goals and technology roadmap.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage and report on the technical needs across the overall web application portfolio used in PBM processes to ensure high-quality business outcomes.
    • Analyze current operational practices to identify and implement innovative solutions that drive efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for planning new development initiatives and serve as the escalation point for existing development resources.
    • Establish a clear vision aligned with company values by setting challenging yet achievable objectives and action plans while motivating teams to balance customer needs, budgets, and business success.
    • Liaise with technical advisors to determine necessary automation, training, and skill enhancement across the technology portfolio.
    • Support both business and technical functions by ensuring a deep understanding of the customer experience, back-end systems, and overall business operations.
    • Develop and nurture an organization that attracts, selects, and retains high-caliber, diverse talent, cultivating a cohesive team environment that consistently meets or exceeds stated goals.
    • Instrumenting, designing, monitoring, logging, alerting services
    • Understand the technology stack end-to-end and ability to keep up with changing non-functional and functional requirement.
    • Provide technical leadership and serve as a mentor to the development team by driving continuous improvements in code quality, delivery efficiency, and overall system performance.
    • Manage the delivery of the IT initiatives, ensuring the quality, design, timeliness, and budget adherence, and meeting the key OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) and KPIs (Key Performance Indicator).

    Required Qualifications

    • 10+ years of progressive experience in Information Technology with a strong emphasis on engineering development and testing.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading cross-functional teams within a technical environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify and document business needs collaboratively with technical resources.
    • Strong customer-first orientation with a commitment to delivering quality tools, information, and content that enhance user experience.
    • Proven track record in driving projects to completion on time and within budget, with effective communication skills across multiple organizational levels.

    Education

    • Required: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
    • Preferred: Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s or Doctorate) and any relevant certifications that support expertise in cloud development, application management, or system integration.

    Pay Range

    The typical pay range for this role is:

    $144,200.00 - $288,400.00


    This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
