Qualifications

• Proven experience operating horizontal directional drilling equipment on active construction sites.
• Ability to read, interpret, and cross-reference utility locates and construction blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues and adjusting drilling fluid mixes.
• Resilience to work extended hours outdoors in challenging conditions.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills for coordinating high-risk underground operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate Vermeer 23×30 horizontal directional drilling equipment to install underground electrical conduit.
• Execute precise pilot bores, reaming operations, and product pullbacks in varying ground conditions.
• Interpret utility locates, bore plans, and drawings to map safe drilling paths.
• Direct locator personnel and ground crews to maintain bore depth and alignment safely.
• Perform daily equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor field repairs on rigs.
• Track drilling fluids, tooling, and materials to ensure continuous operations.
• Document daily drilling progress, conflicts, and site safety for supervisors.
