Job summary

Accessible Space Inc. in White Bear Lake, MN, is seeking a full-time Lead Direct Support Professional (Lead DSP) to provide personal care services to adults with physical disabilities, and to support residents with daily activities.

The Lead DSP will supervise during the day, collaborate with the Program Manager, assist with meals, medication reminders, and personal cares, and ensure a safe, respectful living environment. A high school diploma and ability to pass background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to problem solve with little supervision.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Previous job-related experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and ensure residents receive proper medication.
• Assist with personal cares and meal preparation.
• Observe and communicate site, staff and resident information to the Program Manager.
• Serve as the staff member in charge in the absence of the Program Manager.
• Provide a safe, supportive living environment and uphold rights of residents.

Job Duties

Accessible Space Inc. is currently seeking a full time Lead Direct Support Professional (Lead DSP) to provide personal care services to adults with physical disabilities, as well as offer encouragement and support for our location in White Bear Lake.

What you will do: You will assist with activities of daily living, ensuring that residents receive proper medication, assisting with personal cares, preparing meals, and any other necessary job duties to meet the needs and improve the quality of life for the individuals we serve.

As a Lead DSP you will also be responsible for observing and communicating appropriate site, staff, and resident information to the Program Manager, as well as serving as the staff member in charge in the absence of the Program Manager.

You're qualified for this position if: You are 18+ years of age, have effective verbal and written English communication skills, the ability to problem solve, the ability to perform job functions with little supervision, a sense of caring and the desire to make a difference, and can pass a criminal background check.

Previous job related experience is desirable!
