Job summary

Impleo, based in Washington, DC, seeks a Lead Digital Designer to translate research into concepts and interfaces. You will work with strategists on client insights from the start and help shape digital experiences that people want to use.

You will design responsive websites, build brand systems, present concepts to clients, and mentor junior designers as the team grows. A strong portfolio and mentoring experience are required, with comfort across mobile design and typography.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in UX/web design with a diverse portfolio.
• Portfolio shows a range of styles, not just one look.
• Experience mentoring other designers.
• Comfort designing for mobile and responsive web.
• Experience building brand systems beyond others' work.
• A second strength beyond web design (illustration, typography, motion, or front-end code).

Responsibilities

• Design responsive websites and digital experiences grounded in audience research.
• Build and evolve visual brand systems, including logo and identity work.
• Present concepts directly to clients and defend design decisions.
• Mentor junior designers as the team grows.
• Collaborate with writers and strategists on creative concepts, including new business pitches.
