Job summary

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is hiring a Lead Technical Analyst, Digital Asset Management to manage the DAM system and related workflows for ~2 million assets. You will ensure cataloging, discovery, dissemination, and long-term preservation, while supporting staff and external partners.

Responsibilities include upgrades, troubleshooting, reporting, training, and creating technical docs. Requires SQL Server, NetX experience, and strong collaboration across IT and vendors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in CS, library science, or related field.
  • 3+ years in digital asset management and content workflows; NetX is a plus.
  • Strong SQL (SSRS) and metadata skills (XMP, REST APIs).
  • Experience with image, audio, and video formats and codecs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and upgrade the DAM system with security and data integrity.
  • Monitor data migration between asset stores and repositories.
  • Coordinate DAM upgrades with IT and vendors.
  • Troubleshoot integrations and automate workflows.
  • Analyze user needs and deploy DAM solutions.
  • Oversee local collections and digitization workflows.
  • Configure metadata and workflows with stakeholders.
  • Develop reports on production, rights management, and licensing.
  • Provide user training and ongoing support.
  • Create technical documentation for DAMs and related systems.
  • Act as main IT contact for DAMs and vendors.
