Job summary

Outfield Healthcare Partners is seeking a Dietary Manager to lead the nutrition services within the dietary department. You will plan, direct, and supervise all functions and staff to ensure nutritionally appropriate meals for residents in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

You will provide nutrition care under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian and Administrator, using forecasts, inventories, and purchasing data to stay within budget.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• CDM/CFPP, CFPP, or DTR certification preferred or equivalent training.
• Associate degree in food service management or hospitality recommended.
• Supervisory experience in food service, preferably in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, control and supervise nutrition services within the dietary department per facility policies and regulations.
• Provide leadership to ensure food quality, safety standards and resident needs are met.
• Provide nutrition care within scope under the direction of a Registered Dietitian and Administrator.
• Use forecasts, waste records, inventory and equipment data to plan purchases; coordinate with purchasing department and local producers.
• Participate in department budgeting and report monthly expenditures for food, supplements and supplies to the administrator.
• Communicate with the registered dietitian, nursing, dietary staff, residents and families about nutrition care.
• Maintain resident information in company electronic systems and adapt services to resident preferences.
• Review weight records and nutrition goals; modify care plans with the dietitian and interdisciplinary team.
• Visit residents upon admission and periodically to discuss menus, preferences and dietary restrictions.
• Document progress notes in residents’ medical records as directed by the dietitian and administrator.
