Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in professional food preparation and kitchen operations.
• Knowledge of hospital or institutional dietary guidelines is preferred.
• Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervises cooks and aids in food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and patient meal delivery
• Standardizes and develops new recipes
• Leads dietary team in weekly menu development and adjusts for patient care needs
• Confers with dietitian regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers if needed
• Ensures all meals for patients and staff are prepared, cooked and served according to established recipes and portion guidelines
• Serves staff meals
• Monitors food quality, temperature and presentation
• Oversees kitchen operations in teh absence of the dietary supervisor
• Ensures compliance with infection control and sanitation standards
• Trains cooks
• Communicates equipment repair needs to the dietary supervisor
• Maintains a professional appearance and enforces departmental dress code and conduct policies
• Supports the mission, values and goals of Osborne County Memorial Hospital
• Performs other duties as assigned by the dietary supervisor
