Job summary

Vanguard Truck Centers in Tennessee is seeking Diesel Technicians to join a growing, employee-focused team. You will diagnose diesel truck issues, perform repairs to dealer and factory standards, communicate with parts, and document work on repair orders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred or completion of vocational/technical school.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with 1–2 years experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to obtain CDL.

Responsibilities

• Diesel Technicians perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy.
• Diagnoses cause of malfunctions and repairs diesel trucks or equipment.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Saves and tags parts of the job as needed.
• Examines vehicles to determine further safety or service work required or recommended.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on repair orders.
• Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
• Supervises apprentices as assigned.
• Maintains dealership-owned tools and manuals.
