Job summary

Transdev North America, Inc. in San Marcos, Texas is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across our fleet.

The role focuses on safety, efficiency, and longevity of vehicles, with opportunities to lead and mentor junior technicians. Competitive pay at $28.00–$29.00 per hour, plus vacation, sick days, holidays, and a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k), medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a diesel technician with experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory capabilities.
• Class B CDL with passenger endorsement (or expected within 3 months of hire).
• ASE certification preferred; plan to participate in ASE testing within 1 year of hire.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable per DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot diesel engine issues.
• Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on diesel engine components.
• Assist A-Level mechanics with advanced diagnostics and repairs.
• Execute routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
• Lead diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine repair strategies.
• Overhaul and rebuild diesel engine components to required specifications.
• Mentor junior technicians and support team development.
• Perform other duties as required.
