Job summary

System One, Inc. in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a seasoned lead technician supervisor to own equipment uptime for the local fleet. You will mentor technicians, oversee DOT compliance, and drive safe, efficient repairs.

The role covers diagnosing engines, aftertreatment, electrical and hydraulic systems, planning daily workflow, and parts coordination. Strong welding, fabrication, and communication skills are essential; Class A CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a lead technician or supervisory role.
• 5–10 years of hands-on diesel experience with strong DOT knowledge.
• Commitment to safety standards and regulations.
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Reads and interprets schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced welding and fabrication capabilities.
• Highly motivated with a drive to lead by example.
• Team-first mindset and dedication to the organization.
• Class A CDL.

Responsibilities

• Conduct monthly DOT inspections across the full equipment fleet
• Rebuild and service Cummins engines
• Diagnose and repair Aftertreatment systems
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems on Class 8 equipment
• Perform general repairs on all components of Class 8 trucks and trailers
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems
• Maintain detailed and accurate service documentation
• Mentor and develop junior technicians on the shop floor
• Plan and manage daily workflow and job assignments
• Source and retrieve parts for the team
• Operate a forklift and maintain shop cleanliness standards
• Perform welding and fabrication work as needed
• Recommend improvements to shop processes and systems
• Participate in team meetings and other duties as assigned
