Job summary

Lakeside International Trucks in Janesville is seeking a Shop Foreman to direct and coordinate daily technician activities and shop workflow. You will ensure tasks stay on track, procedures are followed, and proper paperwork is completed accurately.

The role requires leadership of the shop team, effective communication with service advisors, and adherence to safety and warranty procedures. A strong background in heavy-duty truck systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; diesel tech training preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
• 5 years of related experience in a heavy-duty shop / service operation.
• Experience managing technicians.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical repair (heavy-duty truck systems preferred).
• Understanding of engine repairs, tune-ups, diagnosing and testing.
• Knowledge of electrical systems; diagnosing and testing.
• Knowledge of cab, suspension, brakes, steering, transmission and differentials.
• Active desire to develop professional skills and career growth.
• Must be able to lift 75lbs and carry weight up to 5 feet.

Responsibilities

• Main shop contact for service advisors.
• Maintain good customer relations by providing detailed communications to service advisor and speaking with customers as needed.
• Optimal dispatch of jobs to technicians based on expertise, ability and capacity.
• Ensure proper warranty procedures are followed.
• Assist in completing necessary and accurate documentation on repair orders.
• Comply with federal and state vehicle regulations and standards through ongoing education and training.
• Enforce dealership policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Maintain confidentiality with respect to dealership information.
• Other duties as assigned.
