Job summary

Butler Machinery Company in Hankinson, ND seeks a self-motivated diesel service technician for our growing four-state service team. The role involves troubleshooting, repairs, scheduling, and extensive customer interaction across construction, agriculture and power generation equipment.

You will work with trainees and senior techs, and may require after-hours field service. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a clear pay scale.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in a mechanical related field or equivalent
• Min 3 years mechanical experience with Caterpillar and AGCO (Ag product line) preferred
• Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems
• Familiar with DBS, BMTS, and SIS systems
• Able to work well within a team and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Assists with scheduling work in the shop and field.
• Troubleshoots & repairs all aspects of our product lines.
• Will be expected to charge out a large percentage of their time to revenue work orders.
• Immediately addresses any safety-related issues in the shop.
• Maintains a clean and organized workplace, orderly flow through the shop.
• Assists technicians on field jobs with tooling, ordering parts and getting information to them in a timely manner.
• Makes final inspection on all work leaving the service department.
• Develops and enhances working relationships with customers and associates.
