Job summary

Transdev North America in Virginia seeks a Mechanic – Technical Support Supervisor to lead a diesel technician team, oversee diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs, and ensure high-quality service. You will guide technicians, escalate complex issues, and coordinate preventive maintenance programs in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, hands-on technical expertise, and a focus on safety and reliability across fleet operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years quality inspector experience.
• Experience with Six Sigma quality techniques.
• Experience with measuring devices (meters, gauges, calipers, etc.).
• Strong math, analytical, documentation and reporting skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Supports Technicians with complex technical issues.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and root cause.
• Oversee and support Preventive Maintenance Programs.
• Analyze technical data and root causes of failures.
• Coordinate with Trainers for training needs.
• Review repair work orders for proper root-cause analysis.
• Support transition into ZEBs with high voltage experience.
• Provide support to Apprenticeship program.
• Ensure diagnostic tools are updated, calibrated, and licensed.
• Identify tools and equipment needs.
• Research new technology and service developments.
• Recommend Service Bulletins and SOPs.
• Develop reliability campaigns and oversee implementation.
