Job summary

Geneva Rock Products, Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of vehicles and equipment under supervision from the shop foreman.

The role involves diagnosing complex issues, performing major engine and transmission repairs, welding, and overseeing special projects. Qualifications include a high school diploma, at least three years as a journeyman, and a valid CDL with a DOT medical card.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years journeyman experience and/or two year diesel mechanic certificate preferred.
• Maintain a CDL and DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct project work.
• Welding and fabrication.
• Diagnose, rebuild, and repair vehicles and equipment; perform major engine and transmission repairs and replacements as well as electrical diagnosis.
• Perform plant inspections, diagnose problems, and perform maintenance including electrical.
• Complete major road calls and perform field repairs.
• Inspect and maintain vehicles and equipment.
• Prepare and maintain records and reports.
• Maintain tools as required to do the job.
• Operate forklift.
• Maintain CDL and DOT Medical Card.
• Ensure a safe and healthful work environment at all times.
