Job summary

Transdev in Baton Rouge, LA seeks an experienced A-Level Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across a range of vehicles and equipment. You will ensure safety, efficiency, and longevity of our diesel assets.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing preventive maintenance, mentoring junior technicians, and supporting advanced repairs. ASE certifications are required; DOT drug testing may be conducted, with company-provided ASE training.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical per DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine repairs on diesel engines.
• Perform routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate repairs.
• Complete PMs, safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
• Lead diagnostic tests to identify complex issues and plan repairs.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs including overhauls and rebuilds.
• Mentor junior technicians and share knowledge.
