Job summary

AUTOKINITON is seeking a Tool & Die Technician for the Avon, Ohio plant on 2nd shift to provide day-to-day leadership to Tool & Die Makers and apprentices. You will prioritize work, support tooling repairs, and help drive reliability and performance improvements across tooling assets.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and automotive stamping experience, with leadership experience preferred. We offer relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, tool allowances, and opportunities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Automotive stamping experience.
• Previous leadership or lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and day-to-day support to Tool & Die Makers and apprentices.
• Prioritize and assign work to ensure tooling repairs, preventative maintenance, and production support activities are completed efficiently.
• Train, mentor, and assist in the development of Tool & Die associates and apprentices.
• Monitor tooling performance and maintain a data-driven tool improvement program focused on die reliability and performance.
• Build, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and modify progressive and transfer dies, fixtures, gauges, jigs, and tooling components.
• Runs strip and/or blanks through the die.
• Inspect tooling before, during, and after machining using precision measuring equipment and gauging instruments.
• Maintain fixture, gauge, tooling, and perishable component inventories.
• Coordinate engineering changes, tooling projects, and production support activities.
• Update department priorities and communicate shift activities during shift handoffs.
• Promote and maintain housekeeping and 6S standards throughout the Tool Room.
• Operate Tool Room machinery and equipment in accordance with company procedures and applicable safety regulations.
