Job Summary:
Insight Surgical Hospital is seeking an experienced Lead Diagnostic Radiology Technologist to assist in providing patient care second to none! This position provides technical radiographic services for a variety of technical procedures that require application of prescribed ionizing radiation techniques. The Lead Radiology Technician will explain procedures to patients, establish rapport with patients, position the patient for optimal imaging, and educate patients and staff members on best practices and techniques for optimal and safe results.
Duties:
- Lead and oversee the Technologists and clinical staff to ensure the quality of their work.
- Coordinate and prioritize the department workflow to ensure completion of work assignments.
- Safely operates radiographic, mobile, and C-arm & O-arm equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body according to department standards.
- Prevents unnecessary radiation exposure to both themselves, the patient, and other staff members.
- Follows instruction from the acting Physician regarding which area of the patient’s body requires imaging.
- Preceptor for internal employees - Training new employees and internal employees, signing off on competencies.
- Will perform Radiation Safety Officer duties.
- Provide full support by performing job-related duties.
Qualifications:
- Must have completed an accredited 2-year radiology program. High school diploma or equivalent required.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Preferred.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Previous experience is preferred.
- Ability to work while standing, walking, or sitting for long periods of time.
- Ability to do forward reaching, bending, pulling, twisting, lifting, and turning associated with patient transportation and equipment handling.
- Ability to push or pull wheelchairs or beds in pre and post-op areas.
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.
- Proven excellence in patient safety and care.
