Job summary

Apptronik in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Dexterous Manipulation to advance learning-based hand control for Apollo. You will bridge research and production software, shaping architecture and policies for sim-to-real and robust hardware deployment.

You will own the technical roadmap for multi-finger manipulation, influence hardware specs, and lead a team toward reliable, real-time robotics software across simulation and on-robot playbooks.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Robotics, CS, or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in robotic manipulation or motion control.
• Proven deployment of learning-based policies on hardware.

Responsibilities

• Strategic ownership of the dexterous manipulation technical roadmap.
• Architectural definition of manipulation software frameworks.
• Research and integrate learning-based policies and vision systems.
• Lead sim-to-real strategy to optimize policy transitions to hardware.
• Influence hardware design through sensing, DOF, and torque specifications.
• Ensure production-grade C++/Python code reliability in the fleet.
• Mentor robotics engineers and foster technical excellence.
