Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks a Lead DevOps Engineer for the C2SET platform, fully remote in the U.S., with a Secret clearance. You will architect and sustain secure DevSecOps capabilities across cloud and on-prem environments, integrating security and automation throughout the lifecycle.

Responsibilities include configuring CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and container orchestration for mission-critical M&S components, while enabling rapid deployment and high availability in complex defense

Qualifications

• 7+ years in development and sustainment of C++, Python, AFSIM, web services, databases, or web apps.
• Deep experience with DevSecOps tools across multiple environments.
• Experience designing and maintaining core platform services and implementing IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Strong track record building fault-tolerant, secure, highly available enterprise systems.

Position Title: Lead DevOps Engineer, M&S Platform Baseline

Location: REMOTE (U.S)

SUMMARY

The Air Force C2SET (Command and Control Simulation, Emulation, and Training) program delivers advanced constructive M&S capabilities to support realistic operational training, scenario analysis, and decision support for Air Operations Centers (AOC) and Joint/Coalition warfighters. Through agile, DevSecOps-driven sustainment and modernization, C2SET absorbs and replaces legacy AFMSTT systems, integrates with Air, Space, and Cyberspace enterprise environments, and advances the state of theater-wide constructive warfare models—including AI/ML-based analysis and rapid response to evolving missions. The effort involves enhancement, fielding, and sustainment of complex software suites across cloud, containerized, and secure environments worldwide, directly supporting the training and readiness of U.S. and coalition commanders "This includes, but is not limited to: The development, maintenance, and modernization of M&S software that runs scenarios capable of handling operationally realistic complex theater warfare models... The simulation and stimulation of AOC WS and other JFACC and coalition applications as required." The scope of this work will cover C2SET development, maintenance, sustainment, modifications, model development, operational changes, security software changes, certifications, test, fielding, installation, training, data support, help desk, operational support, and reach back activities.

This position is contingent upon contract award. Anticipated start date is 1 November.

Summary of Duties:

• Architect, implement, and maintain a secure DevSecOps M&S platform servicing cloud and on-premises environments for critical C2 simulation, training, and integration.
• Configure and support CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code solutions, and container orchestration for mission-critical M&S software components.
• Integrate security, test automation, and monitoring into the software lifecycle, ensuring high reliability and availability in all deployments.
• Support transition engineering as new capabilities and technologies enter the C2SET baseline.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in development and sustainment of systems such as C++, Python, AFSIM, web services, databases, and/or web application development.
• Deep proficiency with DevSecOps tools (e.g., GitLab, SonarQube, Fortify) across multiple environments.
• Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining core platform services and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IAC) (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Strong record designing fault-tolerant, secure, and highly available enterprise systems.
• Experience architecting and delivering solutions to DoD, intelligence, or critical infrastructure environments preferred.
