Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to design, build, and support Azure-based, highly available platforms. You will lead initiatives across AKS, CI/CD, IaC, and automation, collaborating with Development, SRE, QA, Security, Cloud, and Infra teams.

This role demands hands-on leadership, strong cloud experience (Azure), and the ability to drive deployment reliability and scalability in large-scale environments. Based in Brentwood, TN, on-site position.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud/Platform Engineering or similar roles with leadership experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure and AKS in large-scale production environments; Azure experience is required.
• Experience with CI/CD architectures and reusable deployment pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, manage, and troubleshoot infrastructure and applications on Microsoft Azure and Linux.
• Manage and support AKS environments, including deployments, services, ingress, autoscaling, resource management, and production troubleshooting.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions with reusable, standardized deployment workflows.
• Build and maintain Helm charts for Kubernetes deployments and config management.
• Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform.
• Automate repetitive operational and deployment activities using Bash and Python scripts.
• Support deployment pipelines for Java microservices using Maven/Gradle and frontend apps with React/Next.js/Node.js.

Job Description

Day to Day:We are looking for an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to design, build, automate, and support highly available cloud infrastructure and application deployment platforms. This role will provide technical leadership across Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, networking, security, and application deployments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience supporting large-scale, highly available applications and will work closely with Development, SRE, QA, Security, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams to improve deployment reliability, scalability, automation, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, manage, and troubleshoot infrastructure and applications running on Microsoft Azure and Linux.
• Manage and support Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments, including deployments, services, ingress, autoscaling, resource management, and production troubleshooting.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, including reusable/shared pipelines and standardized deployment workflows.
• Build and maintain Helm charts for Kubernetes application deployments and configuration management.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Automate repetitive operational and deployment activities using Bash and Python scripting.
• Build and support deployment pipelines for Java-based microservices using Maven/Gradle and frontend applications built with React, Next.js, and Node.js.
• Support application containerization, Kubernetes deployment, configuration management, secrets, certificates, and environment-specific configurations.

Skills and Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, SRE, or related engineering roles, with experience leading technical initiatives.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and AKS in large-scale production environments; Azure experience is required.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud platforms is a plus.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD architecture and experience developing standardized and reusable deployment pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes troubleshooting, scaling, networking, configuration, and application deployment patterns.
• Experience supporting high-traffic web, mobile, ecommerce, or other highly available production platforms.
• Strong understanding of application-to-infrastructure troubleshooting across CDN, networking, firewall, Kubernetes, middleware, and application layers.
• Experience implementing automation that reduces manual operational activities and improves deployment consistency.
• Ability to lead technical discussions, perform root-cause analysis, coordinate across engineering teams, and drive issues through resolution.
