Global Payments Inc. is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to join the AI/ML Data Platform team and shape the future of global commerce. You will drive reliability, scalability, and performance of the platforms powering data and AI innovation across Global Payments.

Your leadership will influence enterprise technology decisions, promote engineering excellence, and deliver secure, resilient solutions enabling fast business outcomes and exceptional client experiences.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading engineering initiatives with measurable business outcomes.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with solid cloud architecture understanding.
• Advanced IaC practices using Terraform, Ansible to improve scalability and consistency.
• Strong proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, and GitHub Actions for cloud-native environments.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, DevOps methodologies, and CI/CD automation, with influence across teams.

Responsibilities

• Shape the cloud platform strategy with scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure.
• Automate delivery and implement Infrastructure as Code to improve deployment consistency and productivity.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to reduce time-to-market and boost release reliability.

Your leadership will help accelerate how teams deliver secure, resilient, and high-impact solutions, enabling faster business outcomes and exceptional client experiences. Working at the intersection of cloud engineering, automation, and platform strategy, you will influence enterprise-wide technology decisions, foster engineering excellence, and create the foundation that supports Global Payments’ mission to deliver innovative payment solutions and power the future of commerce worldwide.

What you'll own

• Shape the cloud platform strategy by designing scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure that enables data and AI initiatives to grow efficiently and deliver measurable business value.
• Accelerate software delivery outcomes through automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), improving deployment consistency, reducing operational risk, and increasing engineering productivity.
• Drive continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) excellence by building and optimizing enterprise-grade pipelines that reduce time-to-market and improve release reliability.
• Influence platform reliability and performance through proactive monitoring, testing, and operational improvements that maximize system availability, security, and user confidence.
• Champion DevOps best practices across teams by partnering with engineers, sharing expertise, and creating scalable solutions that strengthen collaboration, innovation, and long-term platform success.

What you'll bring

• Proven success leading engineering initiatives, cloud transformations, or complex infrastructure projects with measurable business and technology outcomes.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with a strong understanding of modern cloud architecture principles.
• Advanced experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code practices that improve scalability, consistency, and operational efficiency.
• Strong proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, and GitHub Actions, with demonstrated success building and managing modern cloud-native environments.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), DevOps methodologies, and CI/CD automation, with the ability to influence engineering excellence across teams.

It's a bonus if you have

• Experience supporting AI, machine learning, or data analytics platforms and translating business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Demonstrated success leading DevSecOps, platform engineering, or technical modernization initiatives that improve security, governance, and developer experience.
• Ability to build alignment across cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders without direct authority, and foster a culture of learning and knowledge sharing.
