Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a senior Development lead to guide the engineering team on large building projects, focusing on energy modeling, budgeting, and risk assessment. You will mentor engineers, build client business cases, and develop detailed scopes with internal and external partners.

The role demands strong communication with technical, financial, and C-level stakeholders. You will maintain development budgets, lead cross-functional tasks, and ensure adherence to JCI playbooks and safety

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is required.
At least eight years designing/selling building systems, energy modeling, or facility mgmt.
Undergrad experience with building modeling preferred (e.g., IAC program).
Licenses or certifications (PE, CEM) preferred.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
SME in 30 Facility Improvement Measures required.
Strong analytical, leadership, and customer-facing capabilities.
Willingness to travel ~50%.

Responsibilities

Lead Development Team to meet department/project goals on medium to large projects.
Mentor Staff Engineers and Development Engineers.
Develop customer business cases and energy savings models.
Prepare proposals and customer communications; manage budgets and timelines.
Coordinate with governance and partners on risk analysis and scopes of work.
Present to customer executives as needed; ensure ethical standards.
