Lead Designer & Showroom Associate
Position Overview:
The Designery is a kitchen, bathroom, and closet remodel company in North Charlotte, NC. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced kitchen, bath, and closet designer & showroom associate to join our team and work in our retail showroom.
This individual will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, designing kitchen, bath, and closet spaces, quoting projects, selling products, and managing projects from start to finish. Additionally, you will be responsible for driving sales by identifying and developing new business opportunities, while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. You will play a pivotal role in promoting our products and ensuring client satisfaction while increasing brand awareness in our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exceptional Customer Service & Showroom Performance
- Provide exceptional customer service by listening to clients' needs, offering design solutions, and providing product recommendations in a timely and diligent manner.
- Handle general opening and/or closing duties associated with the design showroom and assure every guest encounters a pristine showroom in a welcoming & hospitable environment.
- Provide expert advice, product recommendations, and design insights to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions.
- Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Execute strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Attend trade shows and events to expand knowledge and stay informed about new product releases and design trends.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, architects, interior designers, and homeowners.
- Provide excellent customer service and act as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process.
- Product Knowledge:
- Possess in-depth knowledge of our product lines including kitchen cabinetry, bathroom fixtures, closet systems, and accessories.
- Stay current on industry trends, product developments, and competitor offerings.
- Proposal & Design Development:
- Create detailed design plans and 3D renderings using design software such as ProKitchen and ProCloset.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and presentations to clients.
- Collaborate with the design team to create customized solutions that align with client requirements.
- Manage the sales pipeline effectively by tracking leads, opportunities, and sales activities using CRM software.
- Follow up on leads, negotiate terms, and close sales transactions.
- Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with internal teams including design, installation, and customer support to ensure a seamless experience for clients from sale through installation.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, from initial design concept to installation, is vital.
- Provide regular reports to management on project status, sales performance, and customer feedback.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven track record in sales, preferably in the kitchen, bath, or home improvement industry.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with both clients and internal teams.
- Knowledge of design principles and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
- Must be able to take initiative, embrace new challenges, and have excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong team player and able to collaborate with all departments to create a quality outcome for our clients.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, architects, builders, and designers.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, respond to clients and contractors quickly, and meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude, a passion for design, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, interior design, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful experience in sales, design, or relevant industry experience.
- Experience in design softwares such as ProKitchen and ProCloset preferred.
- Technological proficiency including CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite required.
- 2+ years of experience in kitchen, bath, and/or closet design preferred.
- Marketing and social media experience preferred.
- Project management experience required to effectively handle multi-project workload.
- Salary base pay will be contingent upon experience; minimum 45 hour work week required.
- Saturday appointments will be rotated among staff members.
- Commission structure to be discussed during interview process; tiered depending on lead source.
- The showroom will be closed on: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day. We believe in the importance of encouraging our employees to spend time with their loved ones during these major holidays.

We can do as little, or as much, project management as needed and offer the backing of a national brand with a local smile. Our top of the line showroom provides our clients with the ultimate design experience, equipped with VR mapping of their new spaces and all.
Our pricing is super competitive and we exclusively use high quality products such as kitchen cabinetry which consists of all plywood boxes, soft close drawers and doors, all wood frames, and dovetailed joints. Our closets are completely customizable and can be tailored to include the most refined of details to maximize organizational satisfaction.
