Job summary

Actalent seeks a Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design of custom automated machinery from concept through commissioning at customer facilities in Greenville, SC. You will leverage SolidWorks, Creo, or NX to deliver precise 3D models and drawings while mentoring engineers on complex projects.

Strong collaboration with controls and manufacturing teams will drive on-time, on-budget outcomes; travel up to 5% may be required for on-site support and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an ABET/EAC accredited program; 5+ years in mechanical/automation design.
• Proven experience in mechanical design and machine design for custom automated machinery.
• Strong CAD proficiency with SolidWorks, Creo, or NX and 3D modeling of assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design from concept through commissioning at customer sites.
• Collaborate with controls and other teams to meet project objectives.
• Mentor junior engineers and review team work for quality and reliability.
• Apply engineering principles to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
