Job summary

Impulse Space is looking for a Senior Design Reliability Engineer in Redondo Beach, California. The ideal candidate will own the standardization and implementation of Impulse’s design process, leading cross-functional efforts on design standards, margining approaches, and configuration management.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields and a minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware design and analysis within high-reliability systems. The position comes with competitive compensation and benefits including stock options and health coverage.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in hardware design and analysis for aerospace, automotive, or high-reliability systems.
• Demonstrated experience supporting design-for-manufacturing of builds, integration, or test of primary structures and/or complex mechanical or electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and document design standards and best practices for structures, propulsion, avionics, composites, mechanisms, and more.
• Own the design release workflow processes, from CAD to PLM to MRP and ERP.

Skills

Problem-solving skills

Strong theoretical and working knowledge of GD&T

Experience in hardware design and analysis

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
