Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA in Michigan is seeking a Design & Release Engineer (DRE) for Interior Cockpit to lead cockpit trim components development, validation, and integration across Client vehicles, ensuring FMVSS compliance and APQP/PPAP readiness.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on time, manage releases in PLM, and guide supplier reviews while maintaining high quality and regulatory standards throughout the vehicle lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in automotive Cockpit System engineering.
• Experience in cockpit components design, validation, and integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead Cockpit components development, validation and integration for client vehicles.
• Ensure target performance and FMVSS compliance across cockpit trims.
• Lead APQP, PPAP documentation and project milestones.
• Coordinate testing, DV/PV and prototype builds.
• Conduct supplier and internal design reviews.
• Ensure packaging/interface compatibility and release via PLM.
