Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of HII, seeks a senior design leader to drive Marine/Pipe Engineering 3-D/2-D design, coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver complex ship components. You will develop layouts, assess manufacturability, and ensure compliance with contractual specifications and standards.

The role demands an ABET-accredited engineering degree and 6 years of progressive technical experience in engineering and design, or an equivalent combination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design or equivalent.
• Combination of education and experience: High school diploma and 14 years or Associate's Degree and 10 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Marine/Pipe Engineering 3-D/2-D Design.
• Provide objective-oriented direction to coordinators using management guidelines and policies.
• Review work for adequacy of meeting objectives and timely delivery of quality design products.
• Maintain weekly status/progress reports for respective contracts.
• Interface with vendors and Navy technical representatives; travel as required.
